No confusion, no awkward fits. In 10 minutes, you can measure correctly, match your body type to the right styles, and buy pieces that feel great all day.

Quick Take

  • Measure bust, underbust, waist, hips the right way.

  • Band first, then cup — not the other way around.

  • Match styles to your body type for better support and shape.

  • Add comfort rules: breathable fabrics, soft elastics, seamless edges.

Step 1: Measure—properly (2 mins)

What you need: soft tape, mirror, non-padded bra (or braless).

Bust: tape around the fullest part, level to the floor.
Underbust: right under the bust, snug—not tight.
Waist: narrowest point above the navel.
Hips: widest part around seat/hips.

Pro tip: Don’t “suck in.” Measure twice. Trust the tape.

Step 2: Convert to size (band + cup)

  1. Find your band

  • Underbust 73–77 cm ≈ 32 band; 78–82 ≈ 34; 83–87 ≈ 36 (brand fit varies—check product chart).

  1. Find your cup

  • Cup = bust − underbust (cm).

  • 10–12 cm ≈ A, 13–15 ≈ B, 16–18 ≈ C, 19–21 ≈ D, 22–24 ≈ DD/E.

  • Example: 92 − 78 = 14 → B cup → likely 34B if your band maps to 34.

Sister size trick: If the band feels loose, go down a band and up a cup (36B → 34C). Same cup volume, firmer support.

Step 3: Body type → styles that work

Hourglass — balanced bust/hips, defined waist

  • Bras: balconette, plunge, longline for shape

  • Bottoms: high-waist briefs or bikinis to highlight curves

Pear — wider hips, smaller bust

  • Bras: t-shirt, push-up/light lift; smooth cups

  • Bottoms: hipsters/briefs with soft sides (no digging)

Apple — fuller midsection

  • Bras: full-coverage, side support, wider straps

  • Bottoms: high-rise briefs for gentle tummy hold

Athletic — straight frame

  • Bras: bralettes, plunge, demi/push-up for shape

  • Bottoms: cheeky/bikini to add curves

Plus-Size — curvy all over

  • Bras: full-coverage with side boning, power-mesh wings, three-hook bands

  • Bottoms: high-waist with smooth seams, good recovery

Step 4: 60-second fit test

  • Band level on loosest hook; if it rides up, go down a band.

  • Center gore lies flat (except deep plunge styles).

  • Cups: no spillage, no gaps; try a different cup shape if needed.

  • Straps: should not dig—80% of support is from the band.

  • Move test: raise arms, bend, twist—nothing should shift wildly.

Step 5: Fabric & hygiene rules (India-proof)

  • Daily wear: cotton/modal; microfiber for smooth tees.

  • Hygiene: cotton gusset in panties; moisture-wicking bra linings.

  • Seamless edges to avoid rub marks.

  • Care: change panties daily; bras every 2–3 wears; wash cool, air-dry.

Mistakes that cost you comfort (fix fast)

  • Stuck on “I’m always 34B” → bodies change; re-measure every 6 months.

  • Tightening straps to lift → fix band/cup first.

  • Spillage with right band → go up a cup.

  • Cup gaping → try a different cup shape (plunge/demi) or one cup down.

  • Lace itching → choose lined lace or switch to microfiber.
